Happy 4th!

Across America, people will celebrate the birth of our nation today. However, amidst the celebrations are the reminders of the prices we have paid and continue to pay as a country for our freedom. As we look back through American history, each generation has mistakes and victories to claim. There have been very dark times in our history…..times of great disappointment. Yet America still remains.

As we traveled through the Northeast last year, the early stages of our country and history were never far from my mind. I sat in the very same room that harbored discussions and debates from our founding fathers in Philadelphia. We walked the same cobblestone streets in Boston that those men and women did years and years ago. We stood on the same shores in Massachusetts that greeted the first Americans starting a new life.

I often wonder what our founding fathers would think of America now. Would they be disappointed in what they see? Or would they feel pride in a nation who’s continued to withstand opposition through the years?

As believers, it’s far too easy to find the evil in America in our current culture and state. And yet, I think that finding the good should rather be our aim. Even though current culture causes us to sometimes have to adjust our ministry mindset, the MESSAGE of the Gospel remains the SAME.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name,

will humble themselves and pray

and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin

and will heal their land.

So how can we find the good that is exists amongst current American culture? Go looking for it.

Many years ago, I did a Bible Study by a man name Henry Blackaby called “Experiencing God.” I still remember one of the principles of this study……it was to find where God is at work and go join Him. Wow. Maybe not always easy, but yet very simple.

Where do you see God at work in America today? If you don’t know, then let us tell you. We see God at work all over America. Will you join Him?

With grateful hearts,
