As most of you have seen, our week ended a little differently than we expected with me (Casey) flying to Georgia on Friday.

Kevin and the girls have been driving east in Canada for the last couple of days and will be settling in and attending church late this afternoon there.

Snoqualmie Falls is a beautiful waterfall and oasis right on the outskirts of Seattle.

It was a beautiful walk to both the Upper and the Lower Falls.

|| Who is your Nathan? ||

I mentioned last week that I had been reading about David and his life in my reading plan. It’s been interesting, because the story has come alive to me to in so many different ways this time.

Many of us remember the highs and the lows of David’s life……we remember when the Lord made him king…..we remember the huge mistake that David made in having an affair with Bathesheba.

However, so much more of our lives happen between the highs and the lows. It’s often in the “in betweens” that we are eternally impacted by the Lord’s great love and faithfulness.

Nathan was a good friend to David. The Lord tasked Nathan with great responsibility in his friendship with David and used him to provide much needed accountability in David’s life. What a gift Nathan was to David.

Where are we???

It’s been a busy and fun first week in Canada! In some ways, it feels just like we are in America….and in some ways, it’s VERY different!

More than a century old, it is still considered a young city by global standards. But it is growing into every available space and garnering a reputation for international magnetism. Some 200 language groups are represented among its residents.

Vancouver is the third largest metropolitan area in Canada, with a population of more than 3 million. It’s a city of several cities, including Richmond, Steveston, New Westminster, Burnaby, Surrey and Pitt Meadows. Dozens of communities can be found along the transit line, each with its own personality and spiritual typography. Successfully reaching the people who live in Vancouver will take churches that reflect the ethnic makeup and culture of the communities in which they are planted.

Pray for church planters in Vancouver as they work to keep moved themselves in their communities with many different ethnicities and cultures. Pray for stamina as they work to learn new cultures and share the redeeming work of the Gospel.

|| Alki Beach - Seattle, WA ||

This little spot has become one of our favorite places to visit when in Seattle.

Alki Beach is on the sound outside of downtown. It’s an eclectic spot with hours of entertainment just in people watching. It’s beach is a popular nighttime hang out spot for an evening game of volleyball, a fire, a picnic, or to watch the sunset.

This time, we grabbed pizza for dinner from our favorite find in Seattle, Soprano’s Pizza. Then we headed out to Alki Beach to hang out and watch the sunset.
