But God….
“Daniel replied, ‘No wise man, enchanter, magician, or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, BUT there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come.'”
~Daniel 2:27-28a~

There are so many life lessons that I have learned and cemented in my heart from Daniel.
Chapter 1 lays all the groundwork and helps us understand a little bit about what Babylon was like. We also are introduced to Daniel and his friends. In this short time, we find out enough about Daniel to really know who Daniel is and who Daniel serves.
But then in Chapter 2, things start to escalate. King Nebuchadnezzar gets very agitated and restless. His mind is troubled and he begins to dream. He calls for all of his magicians and other sorcerers and demands that they interpret his dream for him. He rages with anger when they cannot and orders them all to be executed.
Enter Daniel.
Daniel finds out about the kings harsh decree and approaches the king. He asks for some time to interpret the king’s dream for him.
Daniel and his friends then spend the night pleading for mercy and wisdom from God. The Lord grants their request and reveals the meaning of the dream to Daniel.
And this is where we pick up in verse 27…..as Daniel approaches King Nebuchadnezzar. As the King inquires about Daniel’s abilities and requests the meaning of his dream, notice how Daniel answers. “No wise man, enchanter, magician, or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven….”
A few things to notice about Daniel……
1. He was in a bit of a predicament.
2. He wasted no time praying and asking God for help and wisdom.
3. He was very quick to give credit to God.

As we approach and look toward 2024, there are a lot of unknowns. We’ve been praying and asking God for clarity over the past few months as we look ahead. And He’s provided some of that in His own timing. Yet this phrase continues to stir in my heart….but there is a God in heaven.
Are you facing something that feels impossible? Does life feel like a predicament?
Don’t lose heart, my friend. Because there is a God in heaven. And He’s on your side, working on your behalf, and positioning you to do BIG things for the Kingdom……just like Daniel.
Thanks so much for being a part of our Tribe!
With grateful hearts,
Kevin and Casey
